Nicole is passionate about serving others, excellent worship, and creating a sense of community. She is a natural gatherer of people and loves celebrating the variety of gifts at work in the congregation (and in service to our neighbors). Since worship is central to all that we do, Nicole is passionate about creating a hospitable space that is welcoming to all and engaging people of all ages.
It is precisely the sense of hospitality that drew her to Our Savior. Pastor Nicole joined the Our Savior Ministry Team in 2019. Nicole attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN from 2015-2019 attaining a Master of Divinity. Our Savior is Nicole’s first call as Pastor, though she has been serving as staff in ELCA congregations since 1999. Her prior congregations, all in Florida, include Salem & Spirit of Joy in Orlando, St. Stephen in Longwood, and St. Matthew’s in Jacksonville. She has a variety of experiences in local congregations and on the broader church, especially in the realm of children, youth, and outdoor ministry.
Born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, Nicole moved to Orlando to study at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at UCF (Go Knights!). While at UCF, a professor assigned her to a group project with the man who would later become her husband. Ian and Nicole have been married since 2004 and have 2 wonderful daughters, Isabella and Abigail. As a family, they enjoy all water activities: swimming, beaching, and boating!
