“When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are,
When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.”
As Christians, we want to do more than “wish upon a star” (as was sung in the 1940 Disney movie “Pinocchio”), we want to follow a star, the Bethlehem Star, because we know where it leads.
As Christmas has given way to Epiphany at the start of this new year, we follow the lead of the Wise Men (Matthew 2:1-12). They were people who looked for light amid the darkness of their day. In doing so, they experienced overwhelming joy in the Christ Child. Finally, they modeled the essence of Christian worship in their adoration of Jesus and in their offerings of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
My thanks to all those at Our Savior Lutheran Church who joyfully shine with the brightness of Christ in so many ways, and who strive to worship regularly, humbly, and generously!
Gratefully, Pastor Mark
Members of OSLC are encouraged to make every effort to attend the Congregational Meeting, January 20, between Sunday morning services (10:15am). The agenda includes the presentation and adoption of a revised congregational purpose and vision statement, along with confirmation of our values, our most important ministries, and our goals and priorities for the future; the approval a 2019 spending plan; and an election of a Call Committee.
