Outreach and Missions
God’s Work Our Hands

Our Savior Lutheran members provide an evening meal to the men of Camp Haven two nights a week. Camp Haven is an Indian River County transitional home for men that provides them supportive living opportunities and education as they take steps to rise out of homelessness.
Change for the Better
Change adds up! Bring your change from home or empty the change jingling in your pockets into the bucket marked “Change for the Better” located in the narthex. Collected change is gifted to local ministries and missions such as Care Net, Gifford Youth Orchestra, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The Source, Our Father’s Table, Homeless Shelter, Hibiscus Center, and Safe Space. Last year nearly $4,000 in change was given to local ministries and missions.
Our Savior Lutheran has been supporting Haiti Partners mission of helping Haitians change Haiti. Haiti Partners provides education and shelter for students, teachers, leaders, and disciples with the goal of nurturing a better future for Haiti.

Home Alone
Our Savior’s Home Alone dinners are known around the community. The idea behind these dinners is, “Don’t stay Home Alone for the holidays! Come and have dinner with us.” Home Alone meals are open to the community and take place Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Food Pantry of Indian River County
It is our call to give of the bread we have to share. Donations to the Food Pantry, Harvest Food and Outreach Emergency Food Bank are received on a weekly basis in the Food Pantry basket located in the narthex. Our Savior W.E.L.C.A. members deliver these gifts to the Indian River County Food Pantry. Last year, Our Savior donated $2,638.50 and 2,520 pounds of food.
Habitat for Humanity
Members of Our Savior take part in Indian River Habitat for Humanity on a regular basis and take part in designated OSLC Build days and Women’s build. Look for information in the bulletin and OSE-news.

Children’s Offering
Each year our Sunday School children donate their weekly offerings to help either a local or international mission such as the ELCA Good Gifts program providing goats and animal husbandry to families in need in Latin and South America or to local organizations, such as Real Life Children’s Ranch a ministry in Okeechobee, FL that provides a loving, caring “home” environment, for homeless children.
Quilt and Blanket Ministry
Our Savior Quilting Group meets beginning in October on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 12:30pm. Each year the ministry provides hundreds of blankets and quilts to over twenty local and international agencies through Church Women United and Lutheran World Relief.
