NAME THAT GROUP CONTEST!
The Endowment Committee has received some excellent responses
to our naming contest. So far the following names
have been suggested for this group: "The Loaves and Fishes
Society", "The Appanage Society" and "Heritage Builders". We
are still open to suggestions. We will be giving a $25 gift certificate
to Outback Steakhouse for the individual that comes
up with the best name.
The group to be formed will be made up of people who are
interested in making a bequest to OSLC Endowment Fund
now, or by naming the church in their will or trust. The idea
for this group came from a couple of our winter residents,
David and Dee Garrett, from Indiana, who are planning to
leave a portion of their estate to Our Savior, along with their
church up north and other places, and would like to encourage
others to do the same. This is a wonderful, generous
idea and a way to continue to make a difference and contribute
to the health and well being of God's work beyond our
years.
The Endowment Fund at Our Savior was established thanks to
an initial bequest from the Victor Miski estate. The Fund is
typically used as seed money to start up new ministries.
Recently Our Savior received a bequest from the Sandra
Swartout estate in the amount of $10,000. What a wonderful
way to remember the church and help the work of the church
continue even after you are gone! Others have also named
Our Savior in their wills. This proposed organization within
the congregation will recognize those who are doing that and
encourage others to do the same.
If you have a name to suggest for this group, please pass it
along. And...consider remembering the church in your will!
Send your ideas to the church office.
Thanks!
