Almighty God, we thank you for the saving grace that comes to us through Christ alone. By the Holy Spirit, increase our faith in you and keep us steadfast in your word, that we may gladly accept and boldly proclaim the truth of salvation in your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
As we marked the 500th anniversary of the Reformation this past weekend, we repeated the refrain of the Psalmist, “Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life.” Just as God’s Word breathed new life into the Church so many years ago, so too God’s Word continues to shape the Church today.
Confident that God’s words of Spirit and life speak to us, run after us, and take hold of us, we rejoiced in the Baptism of John Joseph Mayer, IV (Saturday), and in the Rite of Confirmation for nine of our youth (Sunday, 11am). Blessings to Tessa, Allie, Connor, Evan, Preslie, Emily, Maggie, Daniel, and Andrew as they made affirmation of their baptism. May God continue to speak Spirit and life into all of us as we celebrate being Church together. Check out the pictures below!
And thanks, Martin Luther, for making a special appearance during Sunday School and gifting some of our younger students with a bible!
Blessings, Pastor Mark
