Family, community, relationships. As I look at the past couple of weeks in church, and hear conversations about the upcoming couple weeks, I see and hear more than normal about the coming together of families and friends. The combination of Spring Breaks and Easter has a way of drawing us together. And that’s a wonderful thing! We were made to be in relationship with each other, and doesn’t it do our hearts good when we can be together and nurture those relationships?!
As the last couple weeks of Lent unfold, we see the distance God was willing to go to reconcile the world to Himself, and call us to be in relationship with Him. And that’s a beautiful thing. For if our relationship with God is strained, or distant, or non-existent, that has a negative affect on all our other relationships. But if that primary relationship is nurtured and strengthened, we get to live out that relationship of love and trust with those people whom God has placed in our lives…family, friends, co-workers, etc.
In these last of the 40 days of Lent let your relationship with God be nurtured and strengthened and so spill over in all kinds of wonderful ways in those other relationships so important to you. This really is a special time of the year for that!
